Customer Notice - Coronavirus Update

DUE TO UNPRECEDENTED DEMAND WE HAVE HAD TO INTRODUCE MINIMUM ORDER VALUES FOR BOTH COLLECTIONS AND DELIVERIES FOR NON ACCOUNT CUSTOMERS - PLEASE ASK YOUR LOCAL BRANCH FOR DETAILS
We have made an amendment to our policy about taking and dispatching orders.
In the past three weeks since our last notice, the seriousness of Covid-19 has become even more obvious to all, however so are the economic realities of not trading. Through demand and economic necessity, the supply chain to the building industry is shifting its stance.
As each day passes, more and more Timber and Builders Merchants are opening their doors for business, even if on a limited or restricted basis.
We are proud to have taken the steps we have to protect the health of our staff and support the NHS by closing for the previous three weeks, however many of our valued customers are self employed and are calling upon us to make some concession in our stance of staying closed. Having evaluated their requests, we have reviewed our position and, with the full backing of all of our colleagues, have decided to answer that call and provide the limited services that are achievable while working under the Coronavirus Government guidelines for social distancing.
This change in our policy has not been taken lightly, and we have made sure that the staff required to provide the restricted service are adequately provided for and safe.
From Friday 17th April until further notice we will be operating under the following conditions;
Our gates will remain closed, please DO NOT just turn up at the branch, we will not be able to serve you.
Please contact us by telephone to place your order, if you don’t have a credit account with us payment must be made over the telephone by Credit or Debit Card - we can not take cash of any kind, you will then be given a collection time slot or a delivery day.
We are expecting our telephones to be very busy so we appreciate your patience at this time.
Collection slots will be available for 30 minutes, if you do not make your collection within that time from our dedicated collection area, your order will be removed and a new slot will need to be agreed.
Customers will not be asked to sign for their goods, our drivers will unload your items at the nearest point of access to their vehicle and take a photograph of the delivery. Please respect social distancing guidelines while your delivery is being made.
Priority for collections and deliveries will be given to existing trade customers AND NHS WORKERS however we do expect to have some spare capacity for other customers.
As a special THANK YOU to our amazing NHS WORKERS we will be offering FREE DELIVERY within our usual operating areas AND SPECIAL DISCOUNTED RATES for the NEXT 6 MONTHS, please ask our sales team for details (proof of identity will be required).
